I do my best work where design and operations meet: making something look right, then making sure it runs properly day to day.
Since 2023 I've run my own design practice, working with a contract developer, a real estate team, a self-serve coffee business, a photography studio and an online store. Most of that work starts with how something looks and ends with how it runs: the CMS the team updates, the pipeline an enquiry lands in, the template a caption is written from.
Before that I spent a year as a Team Assistant at Ashurst in Melbourne, handling billing, expenses and document production for partners and their clients, and eight months at the New Zealand Film Commission supporting staff and acting as Product Owner for the funding application portal. Both taught me to work accurately under deadline and to think about the people who use a system every day.
A lot of my recent work uses AI: drafting routine replies, turning long notes into a next step, and building tools like Space Lens and the Canterbury Rail Atlas. A person stays in charge of what goes out, and safety is part of the design: ChanceChat won't start a video call until both people have agreed. I'm open to roles as well as projects; the CV has the detail.
What I do
Brand & Visual Identity
Logo, type and colour, carried through to the email signatures, templates, signage and social a business uses every day. BF Property, formerly buildFIRST, became one master brand across 10 services.
Content & Marketing Design
Social content, property video, photo editing and campaign graphics, produced on a schedule and written in the client's own voice. For Nichols | Polson & Co that meant a post for every stage of every listing.
Web & Digital Experiences
Webflow and hand-coded sites with a CMS the client can update themselves, and the analytics, pixels and CRM connections behind them.
Systems, Automation & AI
Notion operating systems, CRM pipelines, support processes and the small web apps that hold them together. In Aubrica's Order Tracker, AI drafted the routine replies and a person read every one before it went.
