Shoe care packaging study
A shoe care range, relabelled as a personal study
A personal redesign of the Bared Footwear shoe care range, done while I worked in their Melbourne store. Four products, one label system, in the brand's black and kraft. Not commissioned, and not on shelves.
- Client: Personal
- Year: 2023
- Brand: Bared Footwear
- Service: Packaging Design
- 4 Products in the range
- 2 Panels per label: kraft and black
- 1 Layout across jar, bottle and spray
Challenge: A range I sold every day
Working on the Bared shop floor meant explaining the shoe care range several times a day: which product suits leather, which suits suede, how to use each one. The packaging didn't do that work on its own, and the four products didn't read as a set on the shelf.
Goal: A label that does the explaining
Design one label system for all four products that gives the name and purpose at a glance, puts the directions where a customer looks for them, and sits comfortably next to the shoes in a Bared store.
Result: Four products, one system
Each label splits into a kraft panel carrying the Bared mark, the product name and what it does, and a black panel with directions, cautions and barcode. The same layout scales across the conditioner jar, the shampoo bottle and the spray. It was a study, not a job, and it stayed one.
- Label system for four products
- Kraft and black panels in the Bared palette
- Directions and cautions set for each product
- Jar, bottle and spray mockups
- Personal study, not commissioned
